Why Do Acroyoga? (5 Reasons)

Flying launch acroyoga pose

Here's why I think everyone should try acroyoga:

1. It's fun

It makes you feel like a kid again and brings out your inner child to play. Play is one of the core needs we all have.

2. Physical

It builds real flexibility and strength. You have to hold each other, hold your core, and stay engaged the whole time.

3. Communication

In acroyoga you only communicate what you actually need. You learn to ask for it clearly, and that builds trust.

4. Performance

Put on a show for your friends. Be the couple, or the parent and kid duo, that pulls off something amazing.

5. Meditation

You can't be on your phone, you can't think about anything else. That's your chance to actually be present.

Whichever reason hits you hardest, that's your sign. Go try your first pose.

FAQ

Is acroyoga safe?

Yes, when you practice on a soft surface, use proper alignment, warm up first and have a spotter for new poses. Most injuries come from skipping those basics, not from the practice itself.

Do I need experience to start?

No. You can start from zero. Beginner poses like Bird and Throne are built for people who have never tried acroyoga before.
