The Secret to Flying Easy

Leg hold alignment in acroyoga

Acroyoga is much easier than it looks once you use the right technique.

Acroyoga works with alignment. Alignment means the person on the bottom stacks their bones so the energy goes straight into the ground and the ground holds them. That makes flying much, much easier, because you're using bones over muscles.

There's a certain thrill to flying in the air that you can only get in acroyoga. It's an amazing experience, it's fun, and it builds real trust between you and your partner.

This week, go ahead and try Bird Pose.

FAQ

Is Bird pose hard for beginners?

Not when the alignment is right. Bird is usually the first pose people learn, because once the base stacks their legs straight, it takes very little strength to hold.

What does bones over muscles mean?

It means the base stacks their bones so the weight goes straight down into the ground. Your skeleton carries the load, so your muscles don't have to work as hard.
